Manage Loops - How to create a slot

Once a loop is created, you can immediately add slots to it. 

What is slot? 

Similar to a line item but slightly different, a slot is a container for the ad you want to play. It takes a specific spot in the loop or in other words - “slot”. 

Overview

Before diving into the creation process, it’s important to understand what a Slot is.

A Slot is a container for the content you want to play within a loop. It functions similarly to a line item in traditional ad systems, but it occupies a specific position—or “slot”—within a loop, determining the order in which content is displayed.

This article explains how to create a new slot, either by uploading media files or integrating HTML5 content via URLs, and how to manage it within MyAdBooker.

Accessing the Slot Management Interface

1. Navigate to Quantum Loop in the main menu.

2. Select Manage Slots from the dropdown.
   
   
    

Here you can view all existing slots and create new ones for your loops.

Creating a New Slot

Click the New Slot button in the top-right corner.

There are two ways to create a slot:

1. Upload an Image or Video

2. Upload URL

3. Programmatic

1️⃣ Uploading an Image or Video

1. Select the Upload Image or Video option.

2. Drag and drop your media file into the designated area.

Fill in the following fields:

• Slot Name – Automatically populated with the file name, but you can rename it; required.

• Slot Class – Choose the appropriate class from the dropdown (e.g., Linear for images). Use the gray + button to create a new class or the red – button to delete classes; required.

• URL – Automatically filled with the storage location; required.

• Duration – Automatically set; required.

• Size / Width / Height – Automatically populated based on the file; required.

3. Click Save.

4. Your newly created slot will appear in the Manage Slots section.

2️⃣ Uploading URL

1. Select the Upload URL option for the new slot.

2. Fill in the following fields:

• Slot Name – Assign a unique name; required.

• URL – Integrate your HTML5 content or ad server URL; required.

• Slot ID – Optional. If configured, the slot will match deals that have the corresponding Slot ID.

• Slot Class – Identify the type of slot; required.

• Playback Controlled by Asset – Choose whether the duration is manually set or automatically detected by the device.

3. Click Save.

4. The new slot will now appear under Manage Slots.

✅ Tip: Once created, slots can be reused in multiple loops, making it easier to manage content placement and maintain consistent playback across your inventory.

3️⃣ Programmatic

The Programmatic option allows you to create a slot that dynamically requests ads from an ad server.

To create a Programmatic slot:

1. Navigate to Quantum Loop → Manage Slots.

2. Click New Slot.

3. Select Programmatic as the slot type.

Fill in the following fields:

• Slot Name - Assign a unique name; required.

• URL - Automatically set; required.

• Parameters (optional) - Add any additional parameters required for targeting, tracking, or DSP-specific configurations.

• Slot ID (optional)- Used to link the slot to specific deals. Only deals with a matching Slot ID will be eligible to respond.

• Slot Class (mandatory)- Select the appropriate slot class to define the slot type and behavior.

• Playback Controlled by Asset - Automatically set; required.

• Duration (seconds) -  Defines how long the slot will be displayed.

Once all required fields are completed, click Save.
The Programmatic slot will then be available in the Manage Slots section and can be scheduled within a loop.
